A Small Night In Brixton

by cyantific on April 25, 2011

Last Friday was Hospitality at Brixton Academy. It was also the album launch for London Elektricity’s new LP ‘YIKES‘ and the 15th birthday of one of the biggest independent dance music labels around.
I got asked a couple of months ago to play a set representing the best of their output over the last decade and a half. It was a serious honour to do it, whilst also being extremely challenging.
It was one of the best nights I’ve ever played at, and it was so good getting to play a lot of tunes I never really had the chance to play out, like Calibre’s remix of Danny Byrd’s track ‘Changes’ for example. Everything was spot on, the crowd, the production, the sound and the DJ set up. A lot of hard work went into it, so massive props to all involved. And a huge thank you to all the ravers – I met some great people there!
Shout to my man Andrew Attah for the picture.
